Pastor Kevin Miller
I was born and raised in California. I grew up in Huntington Beach and in 1990 at the first year of the Summer Harvest Crusades I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
Way back in 1992 over at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, God laid on my heart the call for missions. In 1994 God took me up to Montana to work at Trinity Ranch Children's Home with Tony and Robin Neal where I worked for one year. In 1996 I went to Calvary Chapel Bible College where I met my beautiful wife Claudia who is Brazilian. In 1997 God laid on my heart the country of Brazil and specifically the place that He would ultimately be calling us to, Manaus. In 1998 Claudia and I got married.
We have been in Brazil since June of 2000. When we first moved to Brazil I went to language school for a year to learn Portuguese so that I would be able to communicate with the people and wouldn't be dependent on a translator. I also didn't want the people to have to learn my language as I am in their country.
In July of 2001 we moved to the city of São Paulo which has a population of around 20 million to start a church there. We lived in São Paulo for 2 and a half years and in 2002 our daughter Danielle was born. We planted a church there that is still going strong today and in 2003 we turned the church over to a Brazilian Pastor that was working with us.
In 2004 we moved to the city of Curitiba to help with a church plant that had just begun under Pastor John Hwang. We worked with the church there for two wonderful years and then felt that it was finally time to make the move up to the north of Brazil into the Amazon.
In August of 2006 we moved here to Manaus and in October of that year we began a home Bible study on Friday nights. In April of 2007 we started Sunday evening services in our apartment and in January of 2008 we moved into the building that we are currently in.
